It's not often I do a text-based post (I like pretty pictures!) but I felt that I needed to make a little post of my New Year's resolutions! And it's hard to put images too things that haven't happened yet, really. So here are my goals for 2013 and onwards;
- Get a Car - I've got my eye on a Smart Car ;) I'm hoping to pass my test soon and this is one of my big goals in terms of next year. At the very least if I can't afford a car I want to pass my test and save towards one.
- Save my Money - another big one. I'm a spender, and especially recently I have been due to emotional/stressful situations in the past month or so. I really need to learn to control my spending better as I can't live on my student overdraft for much longer. I've contemplated doing one of those 'weekly budget/spending' thingies that I've seen on a couple other blogs but is it a bit copycat/cliche? Not sure.
- Graduate University - this one is definitely happening, and I would be over the moon with a 2:1 (which I'm teetering on the line for) but any sort of degree would be great, thanks.
- Life after Uni - Do I do postgrad? Go back to college? Work full time? either way I've got to sort out some kind of plan and set it into motion once I'm done with my degree.
- Lose a bit of weight - this one is more a minigoal. I'm not a dieting blog and I believe that all sizes are good sizes if someone is happy, and shouldn't feel uncomfortable with themselves because of the way some other people think, or you might think they think (lots of thinks!) but saying that, hand in hand with my budgeting plan fitting into the majority of my clothes would be very good for my bank balance.
And that's it! What do you think? What are your 2013 goals?

I like this, the bigger goals are usually the best :) I started budgeting a few years ago and I'm really into it now, even on my rubbish wage I usually have something to save every month, it's become a real personal challenge in beating myself haha! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm seriously trying to save this year, for me it's for the future but I think having a target in mind such as a car will help you. Buying a car was one of the best things I ever did. Happy New Year xxx
ReplyDeleteGood luck! I share your first goal in that I also would like to get my license but unfortunately a car isn't in the cards. It would be great to save and lose some weight as well...
ReplyDeleteSo many of my goals are the same as yours! I'm going to start saving for a classic mini next year, which might take a while but I'm determined to get my dream car. I also have big decisions concerning uni. I could settle for a foundation or do my last year and get the degree. It's a huge decision and I'm constantly changing my mind! Hope you have a happy new year :D
ReplyDeleteSmart cars are amazing, my mum has had 2. They're nifty. I like that you've set sensible, acheivable goals, that are still little bit of work. If you know what I mean, which I don't.
ReplyDeleteI should make proper reoslutions, knowing me I'll have them finalises by mid 2013. ;p
Good luck with your goals babe! I'm on a health kick too :) xxxxx
ReplyDeleteAre you really due to graduate this year? Wow time has flown by! I've not set myself any goals this year as my health has been horrendous for the past 10 and a half years now which completely dictates my life and what I can(t) do. I feel like I'm losing it a bit now if I'm honest...it's just so hard to find anything positive when life (or my lack of life) is so difficult; after all that time it just weighs you down. I'm only half joking when I say I feel I'm headed for a nervous breakdown : (
ReplyDeleteBless you <3 you're doing brilliantly being so positive, I don't know if I could be as strong as you are! xx
